Board of Directors
Kimothy Walker is a founding member of the CSAPN. An award-winning journalist, Kimothy has been producing and anchoring the CTV Ottawa weekend newscast for a number of years. Kimothy was a victim of a sexual assault at the age of nine during a sleepover at a friend’s house. Her motivation for coming forward and getting involved is that she has a young daughter and wants to be able to make it a safer world for her and other children across the country.
Ruth Campbell of Ottawa, is a former Adjudicator on the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and a Crisis Counsellor with the Ottawa Police Service. She is a nationally recognized and award winning author, trainer and an expert in victimization with more than 15 years of counselling, teaching and community service experience with national and international organizations. Ms. Campbell is a full-time instructor in the Police Foundations program at Algonquin College. As well, she is a member of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Appointed in September 2005 by Attorney General Michael Bryant, she is currently the Chair of the Ontario government’s Office for Victims of Crime.
Ron Ensom is a trainer, author, researcher and consultant on child abuse, and the former coordinator of the Child and Youth Protection Program at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). He holds a Master of Social Work degree, a B.A. (Hon.) in psychology and sociology, and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. He has provided leadership in developing a national response to Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma and physical punishment of children.
Allison A. Fisher is currently the Executive Director of the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health in Ottawa and is a First Nations member of the community of Wikwemikong (We-kwim-i-kong). Over the past 25+ years, she has worked in areas such as advocacy, research, policy analysis, management, counselling and assessment. In recent years, her work has focused on issues such as Aboriginal health and wellness, health education and promotion, and youth in custody. Ms. Fisher has served on several committees and non-profit organizations to encourage national and international Aboriginal industry and arts, and is a former Board member of the National Capital Commission. Ms. Fisher has a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.
